Girl Work It gave me the skills and confidence I needed when looking to transition from teaching to the corporate world.  The one on one coaching sessions were great and in between there was tremendous support as needed.  Prior to Girl Work It, I had a very little traction in my search.  After I signed up and followed the process, I was contacted more and starting getting more interviews. In October of 2022 I decided I wanted to transition out of the classroom at the end of the school year. I had toyed with the idea prior to that, but felt lost on how to transition and how to market myself in the corporate world. I tried to apply for jobs, revamp my resume, and learn interviewing skills on my own but was striking out... consistently. It started to make me doubt myself and my skillset.

In the summer of 2022 I found the Girl Work It page on LinkedIn and started following them. It wasn't until that December that I set up a consultation with Lisa Marie and I am so glad I did. She truly listened to my concerns and fears about transitioning and reassured me that I deserved something more in life. That is when I decided to take the leap and join the Boss Up program and I am so glad I did! The program helped me learn new skills from resume revamping, interviewing, networking, negotiating, and much more. I also greatly enjoyed the self-care part of the program because it really helped me become clear on what I wanted in my life and how to manifest it.

Working with Prachi Sharma was the absolute best experience in this program. She was there to answer any questions or concerns I had at all times. She worked relentlessly with me on my resume and networking. Because of her, I learned how to gain confidence in myself personally and professionally and believe in the skillset I already had.

Lisa and Prachi were amazing. Lisa helped me to identify what support I needed the most for my career transition and Prachi provided that support in the form of career clarity coaching. She helped me identify my strengths, skills and my value. I was able to add and improve my resume following our session and the changes to my resume immediately resulted in interviews and call backs! Prachi supported me with interviewing skills, redesigning my resume, and strategies for networking. She is calming and encouraging throughout her sessions and even in between them. I was unsure where or how to start looking for a career outside of the classroom. I was feeling overwhelmed, stuck, and very out of my element. I purchased the Career Makeover package from Lisa Marie's Work It Girl. The coaching calls with Prachi were really great. I learned so much from her knowledge of the business world and also of healing myself. I was able to ask questions and get answers in real time. Before I contacted “Girl Work It” I had been trying to change careers for 6 months with no success. I had tried changing my resume, upskilling, and writing more resumes than I can count, along with cover letters. I was struggling and had no sense of direction. Then along came the Girl Work It Career Makeover program! What stood out about their program for me was the holistic approach to a makeover. It wasn’t just about the outside (Resume, Cover letter, and LinkedIn Profile), it was also about the inside (Confidence, Knowledge, and overall mental wellness) of the program. The program allowed me to build my self-confidence and with all of my newly acquired knowledge through the coaching, I began receiving offers for interviews! To date, I have had five single interviews and 3 interviews where I have made it to the second round! In six months on my own, I had ONE single interview. ONE! Throughout the whole process, my coach worked with me on everything and was with me, supporting me, as one of the biggest cheerleaders! As a long time educator I was truly lost when trying to update my resume and skills for the corporate world.  Prachi worked with me for months to update my resume into multiple forms, provide cover letters, Linkedin Profile advice, and interview practice.

She was always so encouraging and positive.  She is excellent at staying in constant contact and checking in with you throughout the process.

I did not realize my  Linkedin Profile was so out of date and ineffective.  Prachi was an expert at helping me add summaries, certifications, testimonials, and projects.

She also taught me how to connect with others on Linkedin and which positions and people were most beneficial to connect with.

I'm so glad I found Girl Work It! After months of not getting any bites on my resume, I knew I needed help. I had a Zoom call with the founder for a free consultation, and she really honed in on what what my unspoken concerns were. She could tell by talking to me and asking questions that I had much more work experience and qualifications than what my resume was reflecting. That in itself was so validating. As soon as she laid out her plan for my resume makeover, I knew I needed her! She connected me with one of her amazing career coaches who sent me extensive questionnaires to gather information about me; my work experience, my qualifications, and what I was looking for in a new position. While she worked on revamping my resume, she also sent me motivational videos, and interview prep. Part of the package I chose included her submitting my applications to ten prospective employers (that she first ran by me to make sure it aligned with what I wanted). One of those submissions led to an interview! Once I secured the interview, she coached me on Zoom calls about the types of questions I could expect and the best way to answer them (obviously, honestly, but what to hone in on in my experience and how I could be an asset to their company). After four rounds of interviews, I was offered the job, and I was genuinely thrilled to accept! Without my coach's help, I don't know that I would have discovered this company. And even if I had, I likely wouldn't have felt qualified to apply for it. I even questioned her about it when she first suggested it! But she pointed out how I am absolutely qualified and why. At 52 years old, reentering the corporate world after being self-employed for 2-1/2 years while going through a divorce was daunting and discouraging. My coach really helped pull out my qualifications and infused me with the confidence I had been lacking in my search. I highly recommend Girl Work It. Before signing up for this service, I was stuck, frustrated, anxious and demotivated from spinning my wheels and getting nowhere with my job search.  Also was doubting myself and my ability to successfully transition to a new career.  My career discovery session helped me gain clarity on career options going forward, validated thoughts I've had for a while and restored my confidence in my abilities to find a great position.  I feel energized, motivated, better prepared and optimistic about my job search, and that this process is going to support me in successfully transitioning to a new career.  I enjoyed my communication and interaction with my career coach Prachi.  She always listened to my concerns and anxieties and provided great advice and supporting information.  Appreciated Prachi’s prompt replies to my emails whenever I needed assistance or had questions about anything.  The coaching sessions increased my career confidence, with updated resumes and LinkedIn profile, as well as training on LinkedIn networking, interview preparation and salary negotiation tips.  It also helped to identify roles best suited for me and how to get noticed for these positions.  Having the resources and assistance is a definite advantage in the competitive job search process.
